Graduate School Workshops

Every month the University of Minnesota Graduate School offers a variety of workshops for the academic and professional development of graduate students. Topics include: job searching, preparing a teaching philosophy, grant applications and international student issues.

University Library Workshops

The University Libraries offer a series of free workshops during the first few weeks of the academic school year to help grad students - new and old - as they transition to their graduate studies here at the University. Click here for a complete program description with links for registration.

In addition to workshops offered at the beginning of the school year, there are a number of workshops offered throughout the semester, here are just a few. Many of these workshops are offered at multiple dates and times, for more information click here.

Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship Workshops

COGS is sorry to report that we will not hold this workshop this semester, Fall 2008. Please check here in December for posted tips and sample applications.

Thank you.

MA and PhD Students:
DEGREE COMPLETION WORKSHOPS

Topics discussed will include completion of Graduate School forms, thesis/dissertation submission, special registration categories, and degree completion. The workshop will consist of a power point presentation followed by a question/answer period. Although the workshop is designed for Graduate School students midway through their student career, all Graduate School students are welcome to attend. Reservations are required and space is limited. If sufficient interest exists, additional workshops will be scheduled in Spring term.

**Please note: This workshop contains information only relevant those persuing Graduate School degrees, not professional degrees granted by other colleges within UMN.

COGS SPONSORED WORKSHOP:
Creating & Maintaining Graduate Student Associations

Are you interested in creating one?
If you already have a grad student association,
are you willing to share your experiences with others?
COGS presents, the Interdepartmental Network of Graduate Student Associations (INGSA)!

Goals: (a) To provide a democratic forum and resources for grad
students to initiate and develop autonomous departmental
