COGS presents, the Interdepartmental Network
of Graduate Student Associations
(INGSA)!
Goals: (a) To provide a democratic forum and resources for
grad
students to initiate and develop autonomous departmental
associations; (b) and to facilitate communication and collaboration
between such associations.
The University Libraries offer a series of free workshops during the first few weeks of the academic school year to help grad students - new and old - as they transition to their graduate studies here at the University. Click here for a complete program description with links for registration.
In addition to workshops offered at the beginning of the school year, there are a number of workshops offered throughout the semester, here are just a few. Many of these workshops are offered at multiple dates and times, for more information click here.
Each year the University of Minnesota Graduate School also offers a variety of workshops for the academic and professional development of graduate students.

Students must reserve a place by emailing their reservation to: cogs@umn.edu
The e-mail reservation subject line should say "DDF Workshop
Reservation Request", along with the following information in the message section:
(1) Full Name
(2) Major field
(3) Prelim oral date
(4) Status of program nomination for 2008-09 DDF
(5) Requested reservation date
Students may request one of two dates listed above. Reservations will be taken
in the order received, and confirmed on a first-come-first-served basis. Students
should reserve early, since participation may be limited by available space.
