
COGS elects Student Senators who represent graduate students in the University Senate. Senators also become voting members of GAPSA. Senators are expected to promote graduate student interests at both the University Senate meetings and at GAPSA meetings.

The COGS Student Senators represent COGS to the University Senate. Senate meetings are approximately once a month for most of a Thursday (from 10am until 3pm or so, depending on the agendas). Senators also represent COGS to the GAPSA Executive Committee (along with the President of COGS). Senators are extremely important positions as they directly promote COGS' interests to the University at large.
Minimum time requirements (9 hours/month):
Monthly Senate meetings (5 hours)
Monthly COGS GA meeting (2 hours)
Monthly GAPSA meeting (2 hours)
COGS has seven Senate seats and three alternates open for election.

Senators also represent COGS at GAPSA. Social begins at 6pm; meeting begins at 6:30pm at the Conference Room, 3rd Floor, Coffman Memorial Union.
