COGS Resolutions

Resolutions may be authored by any graduate student enrolled and in good standing in any of the constituent departments of COGS at the University of Minnesota. They will be discussed and voted on during General Assembly meetings. Passed resolutions are automatically sent to the Deans of the Graduate School, GAPSA, and to any relevant parties, and may be sent to the MN Daily as press releases.

Authoring a Resolution

As mentioned, any graduate student can author a resolution. Resolutions must be submitted to COGS either in person at our office, or via email to cogs@umn.edu at least 10 days before a GA meetings to be considered at that meeting. Resolutions can be withdrawn for consideration at any time. COGS does not allow anonymous resolutions. Please read our bylaws for more information.

To help authors, COGS has created a resolution template. It is currently a Microsoft Word document, but is available in other formats on request.
